Dr. Kayla Gold, PT, DPT

Kayla’s journey into physical therapy began on the tennis court, where persistent knee dysfunction first introduced her to the power of rehabilitation. However, it was her own experience navigating a rheumatic condition that sparked a deeper realization: true healing is never isolated to one joint. This personal connection to the "whole-body" nature of treatment eventually led her to specialize in pelvic health, a field where she bridges the gap between complex systemic conditions, psychosocial connections, and functional recovery.

Academic Excellence & Clinical Advocacy

A trailblazer from the start, Kayla was a member of the inaugural class of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Kean University. Her path was defined by a fierce advocacy for her own professional growth; she "put up a fight" with her clinical director to accelerate the start of her career, ensuring she, and all 2nd & 3rd year DPT students, could begin serving pelvic patients as soon as possible.

Her clinical background is exceptionally broad, supported by a unique academic foundation:

  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy

  • Bachelors of Science in Biology

  • Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences

  • Minor in Holistic Health

Expertise in Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health

Since entering the field, Kayla has balanced her expertise across outpatient orthopedics, home care, and her primary passion: pelvic health. She is deeply committed to the advancement of the profession, regularly assisting in hosting advanced pelvic health courses for the APTA Pelvic and Herman & Wallace. She also gives back to her alma mater, returning to Kean University annually to deliver a guest lecture on pelvic health.

Kayla is particularly recognized for her work with rheumatic & trauma-based patients, providing a safe, empathetic environment that honors the sensitive nature of pelvic recovery and whole-body connection. As a first-generation American and the first in her family to graduate college, she brings a relentless work ethic and a unique cultural perspective to her practice. Being bilingual in English & Spanish (a self-proclaimed expert in "Spanglish"), she ensures that language is never a barrier to quality care.

Beyond the Clinic

When she isn't treating patients or lecturing, Kayla embraces a life full of community and creativity. She is an avid traveler and a dedicated "dog mom" who finds joy in family gatherings and nights out with her fiancé and friends. At home, you’ll likely find her tending to her plant collection, self renovation in her house, or perfecting her latest loaf of sourdough bread.

A woman with long brown hair wearing a floral shirt and sunglasses on her head, smiling and sitting at a wooden table with two cups of mocha with cinnamon on top. She is crossing her arms, and on her left wrist, she is wearing a smartwatch. There are a smartphone and a napkin with the word 'Cuba' written on it in front of her. The background shows a painting of a pink vintage truck and some garden furniture inside a cozy cafe.
